Lord Shiva graces as a Swyambumurthi here. As a tradition, Nandhi Deva the bull vehicle of Lord Shiva is near the flag post in Shiva temples. In this temple, he is before the main tower-Rajagopuram. He is also a swayambumurthi not made by a sculptor. Hence, He has supreme powers. This is a Shiva temple without a sthala vruksha – holy tree. Any one attempting to dig a well within a distance of conch sound, the work will come to a halt. | | |
